RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Warehouse Laborer position is responsible for the off-loading/on-loading of freight in a safe manner, properly packaging and labeling freight, preparing delivery paperwork accurately, all while working in a fast-paced warehouse environment. Some of the specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Helping to ensure that goods and freight are delivered safely, efficiently, and free from damage
• Efficiently sorting, handling, loading/unloading both palletized and non-palletized freight
• Operating applicable devices for tracking shipments
• Securing freight inside trailers utilizing necessary tools and equipment
• Verifying and completing required paperwork as needed
• Interacting frequently with terminal personnel while maintaining professionalism at all times
• Safely handling hazardous materials as required
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:
• Available to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, nights and weekends depending on varying freight volumes
• Prior dock/warehouse experience required (in transportation industry a plus)
• Prior pallet jack experience preferred
• Must be able to follow safety procedures at all times
• Pre-employment negative drug test and criminal background clearance
• Ability to read, speak and interpret the English language
• Attention to detail, accuracy and problem solving
• Excellent written & verbal communication skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
• Ability to work both independently and as a team member
• Previous delivery experience a plus
• Must be able to regularly lift and/or move 50+pounds
• Prior experience loading and unloading preferred
